Palestinian resistance groups in Gaza continued to target Israeli troops and military vehicles on Sunday, launching multiple operations in Rafah and Khan Younis in the southern Gaza Strip.
The Qassam Brigades, the military wing of the Palestinian resistance movement Hamas, said in a statement its fighters attacked Israeli troops holed up in a building.
Gunmen reportedly killed and wounded members of the Israeli forces in the Tel Al-Sultan neighborhood west of Rafah, while an Israeli helicopter was seen landing and evacuating the dead and wounded.
The Qassam Brigades also said its fighters detonated a high-explosive device targeting an Israeli infantry unit in the Nahda neighborhood east of the city of Rafah.
In addition, Qassam militants, in cooperation with the Quds Brigade, the military wing of the Islamic Jihad Movement, sniped an Israeli soldier in the Zana area east of Khan Yunis in the southern Gaza Strip, leaving him “severely injured.”
