Sharjah: The Gulf
Smart House Sharjah has launched three summer camps with a diverse range of programmes for children, teenagers and digital fabrication and artificial intelligence programming enthusiasts over 40 days until August 28.
The first camp, called “Al-Jazari Digital Innovation Camp”, was hosted by “Al-Jazari Labs” and was divided into main projects, including: “Robotics Genius” and “Creative Art Skills”. The second camp, called “Hay Bin Yaqzan and Life Skills”, was aimed at children and included five interactive activities and various sessions, while the third camp brought together a series of “Youth Group” various cognitive and creative events and activities.
The three summer camps are designed to enable children and young people to develop themselves, develop the intellectual and scientific skills they need for real life, discover talents and abilities, provide a fertile environment for them to practice their artistic, sports and musical hobbies, and open them up to a world of adventure and innovation.
- * A platform for inspiration
Marwa Al-Aqroubi, Executive Director of the House of Wisdom, said: “Our children are the future and our youth are the leaders of tomorrow, which is why we seek to provide them with opportunities for growth and development, to hone their scientific, social and artistic talents, to inspire them to excel in all fields and at all levels, and to enable them to acquire the necessary skills to contribute to the renaissance of our society and enhance the status of the Emirate of Sharjah and the United Arab Emirates. This is why our House of Wisdom calls on all parents to encourage their children to participate in our summer camps and in our various programmes for all ages.”
Camp Al-Jazari includes the “Robotics Geniuses” program from July 29 to August 1 from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., providing an opportunity to learn and apply the basics of engineering, electronics and electrical circuits, and learn about robotics and programming using artificial intelligence.
The “Little Readers’ Corner” of “Al-Rasheed Hall” hosts the second summer camp for children aged 6-11, which accompanies the children every day for four weeks, from 10 am to 1 pm. Inspired by the story “Hayy Bin Yaqzan” by the Andalusian writer Ibn Tufayl, the fun adventure inspires them to explore and develop the abilities hidden in it, taking them on an interesting journey to learn about natural resources, how to use this knowledge. Benefit from them and protect them.
The third camp, aimed at teens and young adults aged 12 and up, included interactive workshops, including the four-day “Creative Crochet: Make Unique Bags from Recycled Materials” workshop, which ran from August 5 to 8. The eco-friendly teams took the steps to create stylish bags from recycled materials, from turning old T-shirts into yarn, all the way to adding the finishing touches to their personal bags.
