SKO: Whooping cough in children worsens, with prevalence increasing 30-fold
Doctors in the North Kazakhstan region have begun to sound the alarm about the worsening of whooping cough. The incidence of the disease has increased 30 times in the region. All those who are sick are children.

So far this year, 62 cases of whooping cough have been reported in the North Kazakhstan region. Last year, only two people fell ill. Most of the patients are in the center of the region. But whooping cough has appeared in the Kyzylzhar, Taynsha, Ertao, Mamlyut, Esil, Gabidan-Musirepov and Shalyakin regions. 94% of the infected are children under 14 years old. According to doctors, none of them have been vaccinated against the disease. Experts say that the only way to prevent the disease is vaccination. Because no drug has been invented that can immediately cure the disease. Whooping cough — An infectious disease. Its symptoms are persistent coughing and vomiting.

— The fibers that cause whooping cough are spread through the air. It can be spread through sneezing, coughing or talking. In severe cases, it can cause pneumonia, lung complications, swollen ears and brain damage. The consequences are very serious.
