Personnel of the Puerto Rico National Police (NPPR) attached to the Joint Rapid Action Force (FURA) of the Cabo Rojo Maritime Unit carried out a rescue operation on Monday on a boat of about 25 meters in length, 6 nautical miles from the aforementioned city in Boqueron Bay. The boat was 100 feet long and had six people on board, including adults and minors.
At about 12:45 p.m., a complaint was received by the 9-1-1 emergency system when a boat was drifting.
Personnel from the Puerto Rico National Emergency Medical Service (NCEM) were reportedly notified and will be waiting at the port to provide first aid.
