The built-in Bluetooth sensor monitors the wearer’s sleeping position and can automatically adjust and correct the strength and position. She revealed that the invention has been patented in the mainland and will apply to the United States next. The Hong Kong University Shenzhen Hospital has expressed interest, and clinical trials are being carried out in Hong Kong. Each set costs about HK$2,000.

It has been used in outpatient clinics, including early detection of heart disease and monitoring of patients in intensive care units during and after surgery.

Another gold medal winner, the “Thick Glassy Carbon Preparation and Heat Treatment Property Adjustment Solution”, was developed by Yang Yi, a PhD student from PolyU’s Department of Mechanical and Engineering and founder of PolyU start-up Carbon Cable Technology Co., Ltd. It can fine-tune the composition of glassy carbon and extend the product’s service life.
