Do the pink fugitives have the safety to continue to plot against their country with impunity? This is the question raised by many observers who say that, given the severity of their actions and statements since July 26, 2023, they do not understand why these people have not been charged with treason so far. After the coup, they were not content to escape the police snares and continue to linger, waiting for a more lenient day. They launched a real crusade against their country openly and in pretended complicity with the imperialist powers. Masoudou, Uhumudu and other little men, who first lurked in Paris and found refuge, protection and active support in European and African capitals, first hoped and advocated for an armed intervention by Western Powers through ECOWAS; then, when the African Union pulled the rug from under ECOWAS’ feet, they saw with regret that this disastrous project failed, and then they bet on the collapse of Niger, thanks to the inhumane and completely illegal sanctions imposed by ECOWAS and WAEMU, especially with the support of France. Niger is cut off from everything: food, medicine, electricity, financial transactions, etc. Everything is gone, so much so that former Prime Minister Ohumudu announced on the set of France 24 that his country would not survive for two weeks. Deliberately.
Today, 12 months after the announcement that caused millions of Nigeriens to vomit, Niger holds its head high, no doubt having turned a bad corner in this crazy adversity driven and sustained by Nigeriens who have made their fortunes illegally elsewhere, as observed by Nigerien civil society organizations. Undoubtedly, for realistic reasons, taking into account living standards, but also to be closer to Niger and act effectively, they have regrouped in certain capitals hostile to Niamey, especially in Abuja, Nigeria, and Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire. From these places, which benefit from the support of their host countries, they try to poison Nigerien public life by flooding it with shocking false information. Social networks have become their platform of expression par excellence, and it is usually the pinky who is responsible for these shameless attacks. The president of the National Committee for the Protection of the Motherland (CNSP) revealed all the incitement they have engaged in, but no action has yet been taken. But it is certain that they will not continue to benefit from the neglect of the Nigerien authorities. According to an anonymous source, it is not excluded that Niamey will take bold measures against the pink fugitives.
