A shooting at a recreational park in Rochester Hills, Michigan, on Saturday injured at least nine people, including an 8-year-old child, according to local media and Oakland County authorities.
Investigators found a 9mm handgun with three empty magazines at the scene and estimated that 28 shots were fired.
The victims of the shooting suffered varying degrees of injuries and are being treated in at least four nearby hospitals.
Sheriff Bouchard said at least one of the injured people had been treated and released from the hospital.
According to preliminary reports provided by authorities, the suspect drove to the recreational park, got out of the car and began shooting.
When the attacker reloaded a second time, he left three magazines at the scene.
