The anti-corruption agency reportedly helped a Shymkent businesswoman receive payment for goods supplied to Akimat Tengri News Network refer to 24KZ.

Local businesswoman Gulsakhar Hasanova won the tender for the supply of 5,000 gas masks in 2022. According to her, she ordered them from a Russian factory and spent more than 160 million tenge. But the company allegedly ran out of raw materials, and the Kazakh company did not meet the deadline.

According to Hasanovar, she warned officials about the delay in the delivery of the goods. But when the gas masks were finally delivered, no one in the police station needed them. The city government terminated the contract and filed a lawsuit against the entrepreneur, and subsequently held a similar competition.

“We came here immediately with lawyers, who also suggested what to do and how to do it,” said Gulsakhar Hasanova.

As part of the “Road to Business” project, they began to help the woman. As a result, the court ordered civil servants to wear gas masks. They did so, but were not in a hurry to pay for the goods received. Then Antikor intervened in the matter.

“At the moment, we are focusing on preventing officials from exerting illegal pressure on businesses,” said the head of the anti-corruption agency, Yernar Yergarin.

Officials explained that the delay in payment was due to the fact that the “public state agency” that specifically ordered the gas masks had changed its management and undergone a reorganization.

“We met all the court’s requirements and in April this year we paid in full the cost of the supply of 5,000 gas masks, which was 187.6 million tenge,” Abay Zholdasov, deputy director of the KSU professional base, told the TV channel.

However, Gulsahar Hasanova will go to court again: this time to get compensation. According to her, she has been paying rent for the warehouse where the unclaimed goods were stored.
