It sounds ridiculous, but Brazilian sharks appear to be “under the influence.” In one study, 13 wild Brazilian sharpnose sharks tested positive for cocaine at concentrations 100 times higher than previously reported in other aquatic animals. These animals absorb the drug through heavy smuggling in the Caribbean and Atlantic Oceans.
