At 15:20 on September 1, an accident involving five vehicles occurred at kilometer 51 of the Bishkek-Naryn-Turgat highway.
According to the News Office of the National Traffic Safety Administration, the cause of this major accident was the explosion of a tire of a Subaru sedan traveling at high speed.
The car then crossed into the oncoming lane and collided with a Mercedes-Benz Sprinter minibus. Another minivan, a Toyota Camry and a Toyota Voxy, were also involved in the accident.
The accident resulted in 7 deaths and 6 injuries.
An inspection has been ordered and investigations are ongoing.
