EL NUEVO DIARIO, Santo Domingo – Evelyn Ortega, president of ServiPro ER, this Thursday highlighted the work that the company has done to improve the quality of life of the elderly in its eight years of existence.
Ortega recalls the origins of ServiPro ER, which was born out of personal need when he found himself tasked with caring for his 104-year-old father-in-law.
He said his father-in-law, who was well-known in San Francisco DeMacoris for his dedication to medicine and community service, was the inspiration for the organization’s creation.
The businesswoman spoke about this issue during an interview with communicators Liliam Mateo, Felix Javier and Domingo Ramírez in the show “El Nuevo Diario de la Noche” broadcast on the digital platform El Nuevo Diario TV.
Ortega explained that seniors need specialized and empathetic care, which made her realize that there aren’t enough of these services in our community.
“Caring for the elderly involves more than simple medical care; it requires a combination of medical knowledge, nursing skills and, most importantly, professionalism and empathy,” he said.
She noted that she inquired about important services, such as those now provided by ServiPro ER, because she was concerned about finding enough staff at the time.
She said the advice reinforced her passion for service since her medical studies, leading her to shape the organization, which today has a positive impact on many seniors and their families.
“I have always felt a calling to serve. This anniversary is a testament to the effort and dedication we put into improving care for older adults, who deserve the utmost respect and attention,” he stressed.
