The Commerce Commission spent more than $500,000 assessing Japanese electronics giant AlphaTheta Corporation’s (ATC) more than $100 million acquisition of New Zealand DJ software company Serato, but the deal was subsequently abandoned after the competition regulator blocked the deal.
