The Dubai International Marine Sports Club has set September 21 next year as the start date for the first round of the 22-foot Dubai Local Sailing Championship, which will kick off the new marine sports season in 2024-2025, which will include many championships, competitions, competitive sporting events and various community festivals on Dubai beaches.
Mohammed Saif Al Marri, Director of Sports Affairs Department at Dubai International Marine Sports Club, said in a press statement: “The Club’s Sports Affairs Department is working at full capacity to ensure the success of the expected event through coordination, preparation and successful partners from government departments and national institutions as well as the target population. Participants, representing ship owners and captains, were informed of the most important changes of the new season in order to familiarize themselves with them and work to implement them in the later stages of the competition.”
Al Marri explained that from December 13 to 15, Dubai’s beaches will be the setting for a global event, the 2024 Dubai Grand Prix race, the closing ceremony of the World Powerboat Championships (X-CAT), which will be preceded by a major regional event in the first half of October, the first regional modern sailing competition of the Special Olympics.
