The mayor of Canovanas said that approximately 433 Dominican residents and 51 foreigners who are not U.S. citizens have been confirmed in Canovanas. Lorna Soto Villanueva It was announced that nearly 60 of these citizens have successfully received guidance from the State Department office as part of the process of completing their immigration status. The training was held at the Monteverdes Center in Canovanas.

“As part of our commitment to the foreign community in Canovanas, we conducted an informal analysis that revealed that 433 Dominican brothers and 51 foreigners were without citizenship. This resulted in them being unable to access all government benefits. In light of this, we developed an action plan and asked the Department of State for initial guidance. We want to ensure that all residents have access to the necessary information and resources to efficiently and effectively complete the immigration process to improve their quality of life,” the mayor said.

This initiative is part of the city government’s ongoing efforts to support foreign communities by providing them with the necessary resources and assistance for their integration and well-being. The training covered all aspects of the immigration process, from the required documents to the steps to follow to legalize your status.
