Libreville, Sunday, August 25, 2024 (Infos Gabon) – The Union of Hydroelectricity Agents of Gabon (SAEEG), affiliated to the Gabonese Trade Union Confederation (COSYGA), held a press conference in Libreville Report fraud to SEEG.
Firmin Baltazar Etombandendji delivered an important message in this meeting in his capacity as the head of the legal department of COSYGA on August 19, 2024, In it he denounced the computer fraud that certain executives of the company and a service provider had orchestrated over many years in connection with the provision of EDAN equipment, thereby causing agents and consumers to be led into anticipation and utter frustration.
In addition, Baltazar Etombandendji called for the strict application of the law against rogue agents. “We often witness the application of disciplinary sanctions and the dismissal of low-level agents who commit reprehensible acts. In these different cases, the hands of the general director should not tremble,” he denounced.
At the same time, he continued: “The existence of this parallel network creates an alarming financial deficit, estimated at billions of CFA francs. This situation could lead to delays, non-payments or suspension of certain internal benefits in the interest of employees,” said the union member, who fears huge financial losses for companies that are already experiencing cash flow difficulties.
“SAEEG members demand that the Commission for the Transition and Restoration of Institutions (CTRI) and the Transitional Government complete these two public investigations and bring to justice the perpetrators of these acts,” concluded Firmin Baltazar Etombandendji.
SEEG was at the heart of a major financial scandal, with losses estimated at billions of CFA francs. She filed two complaints against X after a CTRI investigation revealed the existence of a parallel network for the sale of prepaid electronic invoices.
