Secretary of State for Justice and Security Eric van der Berg will make a working visit to Bonaire, St. Kitts, St. Eustatius, Saba and St. Maarten. He will remain in the Caribbean from June 4 to 8.

Van der Burg opened a new immigration detention building at the Dutch Caribbean Justice Agency in Bonaire. He is in discussions with the Bonaire Executive Committee.
From St. Kitts, Van der Burgh will continue his working visit to the Windward Islands. The Secretary of State will visit Sint Eustatius to see first-hand how border checks are carried out on people travelling to the island. Van der Burgh spoke with the heads of the Immigration and Naturalization Service and the Social Affairs and Employment Service. There will also be meetings with Governor Alida Francis and other members of the Sint Eustatius Executive Committee.
A bilateral meeting is planned with Governor Jonathan Johnson on Saba. There will also be a meeting between the State Secretary and the Sabah Executive Council. The State Secretary will return to the Netherlands via Sint Maarten after concluding his working visit.
