According to sources, the victim is a 65-year-old man from the capital’s Flora district. He told police that a few days ago he received multiple calls from three different numbers from a Russian-speaking woman who claimed to be an employee of the security department of one of the banks.
The woman misled the man who provided her with the bank card details and subsequently withdrew RON 199,724 from his account. The money was withdrawn in installments.
Law enforcement officials are investigating the case to determine the identity of the perpetrator.
