Saprissa FF did not waste the opportunity and won with a painful score of 0-15 when Desamparados “Cuty” Monge visited Pérez Zeledón.

The purple team was convinced that if they could win the game by a large margin, they would do so. And so it was. The “S” team showed its strength like a steamroller, taking 6 points from two games in the 2024 Clausura League, plus this defeat, to become the leader.

From the whistle, Tibaracenia clearly had the upper hand over a vulnerable opponent. The first goal came in the 25th minute, scored by María Paula Elizondo.

From that point on, a real carnage began, with goals from Carolina Venegas (30′ and 55′), Gloriana Villalobos (39′, 60′, 66′ and 83′), Yellin Alvarez (45′ and 74′), María Julia García (45’+4), Kathryn Alvarado (48′ and 51′). In addition, Kyoka Kojima (61′), Mariela Campos (71′) and Veronica Solano (78′).

It was one of those rare victories in women’s soccer today that demoralized one team but strengthened the other.

It was a rude blow for the team that settled in Desamparados, but it was a night full of goals for the other club.

For the purple team, Carolina Venegas achieved an important result, which she herself described in detail: “For me, Saprissa is my home and I am proud to have scored 150 goals with this club in the local championship.”

Additionally, Kathryn Alvarado returned to the scoring charts after suffering a serious injury. Gloriana Villalobos scored four goals.

There will be two matches this Sunday. Tsunami Azul will host Sporting Lisbon (1pm) and Pokoć will await Puerto Viejo (3pm).
