After the first announcement of artificial intelligence JanuarySamsung expanded its so-called Galaxy AI ecosystem at its Galaxy Unpacked event in Paris on July 10. The company unveiled its next two foldable phones, as well as new earphones and wearables.
All the products revealed at Samsung Galaxy Unpacked are available for pre-order now and will be available globally on July 24.
Samsung provides seven generations of OS updates and seven years of security updates, similar to Apple’s security and OS lifecycle.
Samsung launches new Galaxy Z Fold and Flip phones
Samsung’s two latest phones are the Galaxy Z Fold6 and Galaxy Z Flip6, both of which use Google’s Gemini AI for translation, creative features, and appearance changes.
Galaxy Z Fold6
Annika Bizon, director of brand and channel marketing for Samsung Electronics UK and Ireland, said at Galaxy Unpacked that the 7.6-inch Galaxy Z Fold6 is “our thinnest and lightest foldable phone yet.”
The Galaxy Z Fold6’s large, dual-column display opens left and right, with thinner edges and improved durability than its predecessor. Galaxy AI shows up here in the form of Google’s Circle to Search, which lets you circle items to shop or identify natural features like constellations. Google Circle to Search on Samsung phones will be able to translate menus and signs with full-screen translation and solve math problems while showing off its work. Galaxy AI is multimodal, meaning you can speak, write, or gesture to focus the AI’s attention.
“On a Galaxy phone, you can just say ‘Hey, Google,’ and Gemini will appear on your screen for quick help,” Jenny Blackburn, Google’s vice president of Gemini user experience, said during the Galaxy Unpacked demo.
“The large, immersive screen is perfect for multitasking, so you can watch videos in full screen, and soon you’ll be able to move the Gemini overlay to the side panel so it helps you complete what you’re doing,” Blackburn said.
Particularly interesting for businesses is the ability in Samsung Notes to record, transcribe, and export audio using AI, which could save a ton of time during meetings or interviews.
For creative work and marketing, Galaxy AI supports Sketch to Image, a way to have Gemini generate an image based on a drawing you make. You can also sketch over a photo and then use AI to make realistic changes to the photo. Galaxy AI will suggest how to reimagine the image.
Inside the Galaxy Z Fold6 is the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 mobile platform. The Galaxy Z Fold6 has an internal storage space of 256 GB to 1 TB, depending on the model.
Galaxy Z Flip6
Samsung’s new vertical folding phone, the Galaxy Z Flip6, also comes with a set of AI tools powered by Google Gemini and ProVisual photo editing engine. The 3.4-inch front window allows you to use many features on the front, including Samsung Health and Wallet, for quick interaction without opening the phone. The main screen is 6.7 inches. Inside, you’ll find the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 Mobile Platform for Galaxy. The Galaxy Z Flip6 comes with 256GB or 512GB of internal storage.
Samsung highlighted photo editing tools that can automatically zoom based on the number of people in the field of view, or generate extra frames to create slow-motion videos.
A large vapor chamber is used for the first time in the Flip series of phones, extending battery life through more efficient cooling. In response to concerns about the strength of the hinge, Chosen said the Galaxy Z Flip6 has improved durability.
How Google’s AI is integrated into Samsung’s sixth-generation phone
Samsung’s mobile division president TM Roh said Galaxy AI will be available on 200 million Galaxy devices this year and will support 16 languages on-device even without an internet connection.
The goal, Roh said, is “safe and inclusive AI so that no one is left behind,” using “a hybrid approach that combines on-device security and privacy with cloud-based creativity.” Apple SmartAdditionally, the Google AI on Samsung devices will connect to the cloud for certain needs and resources.
For safety, AI real-time translation and interpretation capabilities are handled by the device.

Galaxy Watch Ultra and Galaxy Watch 7 are always ready
The debut of the Galaxy Watch Ultra brings a high-end wearable device suitable for “adventures” with waterproof features and a durable frame, suitable for outdoor enthusiasts and athletes. It has up to 100 hours of battery life in power saving mode, a titanium frame, waterproof performance and a CPU that is three times faster than the previous generation watch. The main attraction of Ultra is the battery life, accurate GPS system and in-depth health monitoring connected to the Samsung Health app.
Samsung Watch Ultra is in partnership with Google and comes with WearOS 5. It retails for $649.
The Galaxy Watch 7 is a more mainstream watch that includes some Samsung Health app features in a range of models starting at $299. Health widgets include sleep tracking, heart rate monitoring, and FDA-authorized sleep apnea detection.
Galaxy Ring Revealed
Speaking of health, the Galaxy Ring seems designed to provide as much guidance as possible for a healthy lifestyle. The Ring syncs with the Samsung Health app and can be worn day and night to track sleep and energy.
Galaxy AI also provides insights based on health tracking. Sleep tracking calculates an “energy score” based on your sleep, heart rate, and heart rate variability. Based on this score, your device can recommend when you are well rested or when you should “wind down” or “rest” based on your condition.
The Ring battery can last up to 7 days on a single charge. The Galaxy Ring costs $399.99, and no subscription is required.
Galaxy Buds 3 and Galaxy Buds 3 Pro bring familiar styling and “intelligent” noise cancellation
Samsung’s next high-end earbuds are the Galaxy Buds3 Pro, which were announced today alongside the next-generation Galaxy Buds3. The blade lights on the Galaxy Buds3 Pro add a futuristic feel, while the elongated shape is reminiscent of Apple’s competing AirPods.
Malika Chraibi, wearables program manager at Samsung Electronics France, said: “Dynamic adjustment of sound curves and active noise cancellation” can provide an “intelligent” sound experience. For example, the Galaxy Buds3 Pro can provide effective, intelligent noise cancellation for a crowded office, especially if this “intelligent” function works as advertised. Chraibi said the earphones can filter out noisy road construction sounds but let ambulance sirens through.
The basic Buds3 have some of the same noise-canceling features as the Pro version, but without the top cover, some of the “smart” features won’t work.
The Galaxy Buds 3 are priced at $179, while the Galaxy Buds3 Pro are priced at $249.
Samsung is pushing health and sports features ahead of the Paris Olympics
At its Galaxy Unpacked summer event, which was held in Paris in a style befitting the Summer Olympics, Samsung emphasized how its devices can track health and wellness. If you’re interested, the interplay between wearables and your phone makes it easy to check your health and energy during work meetings, long hours at work, or meetings with clients.
With the help of artificial intelligence, health data from Samsung devices can be combined into a “data graph” to provide you with suggestions and alert you to potential issues. Bizon says that if your energy score on the data graph is low, your phone can suggest that you skip “that 7 a.m. spin class.”
Samsung’s efforts here are strikingly similar to its main competitor in this space, the Apple Watch and Apple’s health data ecosystem.
