Samoa returned to winning ways in the 2024 Pacific Nations Cup, defeating Tonga 43-17 in the second match at Apia Park today.
After suffering a 42-16 defeat to the Fiji Flyers in Suva last week, Samoa turned things around quickly at home, performing well in a tight contest with disciplined and committed players.
The hosts led 17-0 at the break and maintained their advantage for the rest of the match, despite Tonga making some threats on the scoreboard.
Samoa must now await the result of Fiji’s match against Tonga next week to find out if they qualify for the PNC semi-finals.
