Assistant Commissioner of Police Livai Driu said it was no longer surprising that students were involved in serious crimes.
ACP Driu said the involvement of children in serious crimes was a sad reality today.
“We continue to receive reports of students being involved in serious crimes,” he said.
While speaking to students of Nabara Secondary School, he said most of the time these children were involved in criminal activities such as drugs, rape, kidnapping and burglary.
“These are serious cases involving young people under the age of 18.”
He reminded students that one wrong decision could turn their world upside down.
“Most of the kids who committed these crimes are now living with regret.”
He said no child should have to go through this kind of trauma at such a young age.
“You should enjoy your childhood.
He advises them not to rush into adult life because it brings responsibilities and burdens they may not be ready for.
