Kasese really knows how to show up and Saturday night’s Tusker Lite Neon Street Party was a true testament to that, lighting up the entire town. The party was the capstone to the third Tusker Lite Rwenzori Mountain Marathon held earlier in the day, which was a huge success.
The race did not end as more than 3,600 runners enjoyed the natural beauty of Kasese at the foot of the majestic Rwenzori Mountains and challenged themselves. Instead, the climax of the race was further heated up, and Stanley Street, the finish line of the marathon, was transformed into an entertainment center, making the whole town bustling.
The line at the entrance snaked out into the street as enthusiastic fans eagerly waited to get in. Many were there for one main reason only – to catch a glimpse of the star of the night, Vinka. However, as the night wore on, it became clear that the local community really appreciated the local artists, who really did steal the show.
Hurley Baby wowed the audience as she took control of the stage with her amazing singing talent. Her voice was flawless, commanding the audience’s attention and earning applause from the audience.
Another outstanding performer was local talent Good Hope from Kasese, who had the audience cheering and dancing along, making the night even more special for his hometown.
Aine Dash, Saint Trevor kept the enthusiasm high throughout the night. DJ Assasin and DJ Shidy understood the task and delivered great songs one after another while Dance Mamweta entertained the audience with her exciting dance performance.
Next up was Vinka. She received a hero’s welcome, with fans cheering her on before her performance, and she did not disappoint. Her energetic performance was the perfect climax to an already amazing evening.
When she sang “All Over You,” the crowd erupted in cheers that echoed through the streets. Vinka brought the passion and Kasese gave it her all! She also sang other hits like “Chips Ne Ketchup,” “Thank God,” and “One Touch,” which had the crowd dancing and cheering.
Speaking on the significance of bringing Neon Rave to Kasese, UBL Project Manager Patience Aguti said it was a way to connect with the brand’s consumers and the local community.
“The Kasese Edition Tusker Lite Neon Rave is a platform to celebrate all runners who test and challenge themselves in the marathon. It is our chance to share in their excitement and leave a lasting impact on the town that has so warmly welcomed us,” said Aguti.
As one local partygoer put it: “This is exactly what Kasese needs – a special night to remember!”
As the Tusker Lite Rwenzori Mountain Marathon continues to grow, so too has the Neon Carnival, becoming a must-attend event that celebrates not only the participants but also the community of Kasese. Next year’s event is set to be even better, with more exciting performances, more thrills and another unforgettable night in Kasese.
