Rwandan and Sri Lankan militaries further expand existing cooperation
The Rwandan Ministry of Defence announced that discussions held by defence leaders focused on further expanding joint relations in the military sphere through knowledge sharing.
Talking to the media, the Sri Lankan Army Chief said the purpose of his visit to Rwanda is to exchange knowledge and skills to enhance the capabilities of the armed forces of both countries and there is also a way for school teachers of the Rwandan and Sri Lankan armies and other departments to exchange and cooperate.

“In Rwanda, the security forces are doing a good job in supporting the country’s economic development. We discussed how the two countries can share knowledge. We gave some lessons to the Rwandan troops in Sri Lanka with the aim of increasing the exchange of ideas between the Sri Lankan and Rwandan armed forces,” he said.
The Sri Lankan Army Chief used the opportunity to visit the Kigali Tutsi Genocide Memorial in Gisozi and bowed before the innocents buried there.

General Shavendra Silwan also visited the Stop Genocide Historical Museum in Kimihura, Parliament, and reviewed with the Rwandan people the past 30 years since the liberation of Rwanda at a ceremony held on July 4, 2024 at the Amahoro Stadium.
The Rwandan Ministry of Defense also announced on July 4, 2024 that the Commander-in-Chief of the Rwanda Defense Force, Mubarakh Muganga, received the Deputy Commander for Planning and Training of the Kenyan Army KDF and held talks at the RDF headquarters to reach an existing cooperation.

Major General Luria also conveyed a message from the Kenyan Army Chief to General Mubarah Muganga to celebrate and mark the liberation anniversary with Rwanda.
The countries of Sri Lanka and Kenya generally have good relations with Rwanda, which are strengthened by the relations and cooperation between the two countries.
