Rustavi brutally murdered his wife and sister-in-law – today, during the trial, the prosecutor in the case said that the defendant Firashvili physically and psychologically abused his wife.

According to Ketevan Sonidze, some time before the murder, a 27-year-old boy tried to strangle Mariam Sopromadze. It is known that he forbade his wife to use a mobile phone, locked her in the house and prevented her from seeing her family.

“He put his hands on his throat and tried to suffocate himself. In the course of this act, capillaries were severed, blood flowed out of his mouth, vomiting blood and similar horrible consequences were caused by this criminal act. Unfortunately, this fact was hidden from the family and the victim,” said Sonizer.

According to prosecutors, the defendant was in danger of committing new crimes because he had conflicts with the victim’s family, including his wife’s brother.

Kotvan Sonetze said prosecutors would order a psychiatric examination of the detainee. According to Sonetze, Filashvili smoked marijuana, which led to changes in his personality.

Giorgi Firashvili, 27, was detained as a precaution.

It is understood that on May 22, a mother and daughter were shot dead by a shotgun while walking their child in the square on Rustavi Dumbadze Street. Law enforcement officers arrested 27-year-old Giorgi Pirashvili in connection with the incident. He has the right to remain silent.

Firashvili was charged under Article 11, principal clause, Article 109, clauses “B”, “T”, “K” and “L” of the Criminal Code of Georgia and Part I of Article 126, principal clause of the Code, the type and degree of punishment of which provide for 16 to 20 years of imprisonment or life imprisonment.
