Russia warns France not to try to ‘intimidate’ detained Telegram founder Pavel Durov

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov suggested the French government was trying to intimidate Pavel Durov, the Russian-born chief executive of the messaging app Telegram. Durov was arrested on Saturday outside Paris on 12 counts of drug trafficking, selling child sexual abuse material and fraud on the messaging platform. Prosecutors said on Tuesday that Durov would remain in Paris police custody for 48 hours.
