Russian authorities reported on Saturday that Ukrainian forces attacked several regions of Russia with a barrage of drone strikes overnight.

He explained that Moscow’s air defense systems “intercepted and destroyed” a total of 75 drones in several border regions or not far from Ukraine, including in the Ukrainian interior regions of Belgorod, Krasnodar, Kursk, Oryol, Rostov, Voronezh and Ryazan, the Defense Ministry said in a statement.

He added that one of the drones was shot down over the Sea of ​​Azov.

The ministry said 36 drones were shot down over Rostov, but Rostov Governor Vasily Golubev said in a statement that the region had been hit by 55 drones in total. However, he did not specify how many were intercepted or reached their targets, only noting that “storage facilities” in the Morozovsk and Kamensky regions were damaged.

Ukraine’s General Staff said in a Facebook post on Saturday that its forces attacked an airfield in Morozovsk and hit ammunition depots there with guided bombs, as well as fuel tanks in the Belgorod, Kursk and Rostov regions.

Belgorod Oblast Governor Vyacheslav Gladkov confirmed that a fuel depot in his region had been attacked, noting that one of the tanks exploded and caught fire but was quickly extinguished.

Oryol region governor Andrei Klychkov said two drones crashed into a residential building and caused a brief fire. One person had to be treated by medical services after the attack.

Ukraine’s air force said on Saturday that Russia had launched 29 Shahed drones and four missiles into the country overnight.

Ukrainian air defenses shot down 24 drones in nine regions, according to an online statement by Air Force Commander Mykola Oleshchuk, but he did not clarify whether the missiles were also intercepted or if they caused damage.
