According to the governor, security forces came under attack by armed civilians in a neighborhood in the Jesús María district in northern Culiacán.
This led to the deployment of city, state and federal authorities to monitor the situation, which resulted in civilians setting two vehicles on fire on Mexico Highway 15 near Limond de Los Ramos.
process Unofficial reports indicate that clashes broke out in Paredones, a mountain community that belongs to the government of Jesús María in Culiacán, where Ovidio Guzmán López was arrested in January 2023, the report said.
Clashes were also reported in Limond de los Ramos and Mojolo, both areas influenced by the Los Chapitos group, a faction of the Sinaloa cartel run by Joaquín Guzmán Loera’s sons.
Unofficial information indicates that Iván Archivaldo Guzmán is suspected of being arrested, but security services have not yet confirmed this.
