RTHK wins Asia Pacific Broadcast Award for its peace message
Radio Television Hong Kong (RTHK) has won the Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union’s Media Award for “Building Earth, People and Peace Together”. RTHK’s Radio 5 program “Today is So Happy” stood out from more than 100 entries from 30 countries and regions in the Asia-Pacific region on Wednesday and won the top award in the “Peace” category of radio programs.
The award-winning show aims to help listeners cope with stress and negative emotions during the COVID-19 pandemic. The 365 one-minute episodes offer practical tips for boosting mental health.
RTHK’s Chinese News Current Affairs Unit was nominated in the “Earth” category for a news report that highlighted environmental advocate Mok Ho-kwong, known as the “Wild Man” for his eco-centric philosophy.
