This Wednesday evening, 7-year-old girl Dania Estebana Jarquín died at the Siuna hospital in Caribe Norte, having been run over by a truck in the afternoon in the El Sombrero neighborhood of Rosita.
News Hunter reported that the girl was returning home from a grocery store and was trying to cross the road when she was catapulted several meters by an Isuzu truck with license plate ES 19-851, suffering severe head trauma.
According to residents of the area, the girl’s Jarquín García family had only moved from Bocana de Paiwas to the El Sombrero community a day earlier.
The girl was rushed by a private van to the Rosario Pravia Hospital in Rosita and then transferred to the Carlos Centeno Hospital in Siuna, where her life could not be saved due to the severity of her injuries.
