Road users are informed that as part of the traffic study currently underway in Tahiti, a major manual road counting exercise will be carried out between Monday 26 August and 6 September 2024 at the main interchange points of the road network in the communes of Papeete, Pires, Arue and Mahina.

In this case, surveyors will be deployed around the road, but without any modification to the traffic, and will conduct the following surveys: categorical direction counts (149 intersections (20 roundabouts and 129 planes) or 406 stations and 629 lanes); origin/destination surveys (15 stations or 23 lanes) and occupancy measurements (6 stations or 24 lanes).

These elements will allow us to model current flows by taking into account the adaptation of population flows following changes in school timetables. These models will make it possible to continue studying various development options aimed at improving mobility and road traffic. These counts will therefore contribute to achieving the goals committed by the State to reduce road congestion.
