Two men on a moped tried to break into Republic Bank, which is located on the corner of Mr. Jaggernath Lachmonstraat and Nickeriestraat in Suriname.
One of the perpetrators used a crowbar to break down the gate. That’s when the alarm sounded, after which the men stopped their attempts.
A security company and Surinamese police arrived at the scene to investigate. Images captured by security cameras showed the men’s actions.
The moped rider was waiting for his pillion rider in Cattleyastraat while he forced the door of the bank open. When the alarm sounded, they quickly drove in the direction of Fajalobi Street.
Flora Police have logged the report and are investigating the matter. Nothing was taken. Efforts are currently underway to locate and arrest the two suspects.
