Andreas Angelidis, a well-known lawyer and former member of parliament, has died at the age of 77 after facing serious health problems recently.
Andreas Angelidis was born on December 12, 1946 in Larnaca and studied Law, Political Science and Social Sciences at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. He is married to Maria Dimitriou (1977-2016). He has a son and a daughter. He is also the founder and CEO of the renowned Andreas S. Angelidis depe law firm. He was elected Member of Parliament for the Nicosia constituency with DIKO from 2006 to 2011 and has been a DIKO parliamentary deputy since 2006.

Philosophy was also his life, the right above all else. He consistently and continuously promoted this vision, resulting in judicial decisions that crossed the legal line and contributed to the enrichment of jurisprudence on both substantive and procedural issues.
He believes that the Court of Justice is a constant, daily challenge and questioning of every unjust and wrong decision of the Government, in which external and impermissible factors have played a part. It has been struggling for 50 years to improve the State, the State and the Administration and to make the Republic of Cyprus, as far as possible, a true State of law, with good administration and natural justice for all.
