Mr. Sannasgala disclosed the controversial news that the General Secretary of the Presidential Union, Mr. Saman Ratnapriya, had extended an invitation to Mr. Upul Shantha Sannasgala, a former expert Sinhala tutorial teacher, for a defamation campaign in the presidential election.

Mr. Sannasgara said that Saman Ratnapriya, who had called him, had already started working for the presidential election and invited Mr. Sannasgara to attend a press conference at his new office in Korupitiya.

When asked why he came here, Mr. Ratnapriya said that it was a political moment and political activities had resumed, and Mr. Sannasgara said that he watched the video clip of Mr. Sannasgara criticising Janata Vimukthi Peramuna and asked him to repeat it at the press conference.

Mr Sannasgala said this was the first time Saman Ratnapriya had called him after the 2015 general elections.

Mr. Sannasgala revealed that he rejected Saman Ratnapriya’s proposal with great disgust and after learning that Mr. Ratnapriya’s phone call was being recorded, his tone changed and he became silent.
