South African President Cyril Ramaphosa has invited President Joao Lourenço to visit South Africa later this year.

The South African politician made the statement at the International Airport on February 4 after concluding his hours-long visit to our country.

“I have invited His Excellency President Lourenço to visit South Africa later this year and the details of the visit will be finalised in due course. As I said, this is a reflection of the special relationship that exists between our two countries,” he said.

In his speech, Ramaphosa also thanked Luanda for its efforts to achieve peace in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.

“I have been in contact with His Excellency President João Lourenço and thank him for his efforts to mediate the current situation in the Democratic Republic of the Congo and for what has been achieved so far, namely a ceasefire between the Democratic Republic of the Congo and Rwanda”, continues: .

South Africa’s head of state, Cyril Ramaphosa, took office on 19 June, with the Angolan president attending his inauguration.

Cesario Salata, an international relations expert, said the two countries share a strong interest in peace not only in the SADC region but also in the rest of the African continent.
