QE Solar to provide maintenance services for Plus Power’s Kapolei energy storage project

Quantum Electronic Solar Energy Recently announced the successful provision of maintenance services for the Kapolei Energy Storage Project, which was Add strength.

Located on the island of Oahu, Hawaii, the KES facility is the world’s most advanced grid-scale battery energy storage system (“BESS”), helping the state’s electricity transition from coal and oil to solar and wind.

Springfield-based QE Solar services the KES project from its NERC-compliant remote operations center in Springfield, with field personnel on Oahu to support high availability of the project.

“As a leading third-party operator of BESS projects and one of the largest (operations and maintenance) providers in the U.S., supporting both utility-scale and (commercial and industrial) projects, we are very pleased to serve this critical grid infrastructure project,” said Ken Heissler, CEO of QE Solar. “The KES project provides the highest level of battery-to-grid capacity percentage in the world, and we are very proud that Plus Power has entrusted our utility operations team and NERC-compliant remote operations center to provide maintenance services for this groundbreaking project.”
