Qatar Olympic and Sports Museum is organizing 1 – 2 – 3 days of fun-filled activities for all ages under the theme “Let’s Move 2024 Launch Athletes”.
Designed to encourage community members to participate in sport and celebrate the rich Olympic heritage, the programme will feature a series of interactive activities guaranteed to be energising and entertaining for participants of all ages.
Visitors can participate in interactive competitions throughout the day in the museum’s activity area, which focus on speed, length and power and are themed after the Olympic motto “Faster, Higher, Stronger”.
Demonstrations of a number of Olympic sports will also be available for all to participate in throughout the day, allowing participants to measure their speed, agility and strength, and there will be a number of workshops themed around the core Olympic values.
Participants will engage in creative activities such as making wreaths to be presented to winners of the ancient Olympics, as well as gold medals awarded to modern Olympic champions. The workshop will also feature the Paris 2024 mascots, providing a fun and educational experience for everyone.
In this context, Mr. Abdullah Yousef Al-Mulla, Director of the Qatar Olympic Sports Museum 3-2-1, said: “The World Olympic Day celebrations offer a unique opportunity for everyone to experience the excitement and spirit. Our diverse activities are designed to encourage people of all ages to participate in sports and athletics, and to embrace the values of excellence, friendship and respect, which are at the heart of the Olympic principles of the Games.”
The event is a result of the Qatar Olympic and Sports Museum’s mission to research, collect, teach and share the story of global and Qatari sport in an engaging, fluid and fun way through carefully curated participatory spaces. The museum aims to inspire and engage the community and encourage public participation in sport and physical activity.
