Qatar Energy to supply urea to US-based Coca-Cola Fertilizer for 15 years

Qatar Energy Company has signed a long-term agreement to supply urea to Cook Fertilizers, one of the companies specializing in the production and supply of fertilizers in the country.
The supply agreement, which will take effect in July 2024, will provide for the supply of up to 740,000 tonnes of urea per year to Kok Fertilizers for a period of 15 years. Under the agreement, Qatari-origin urea will be supplied to the agricultural sector in the United States and other international markets.
In this regard, His Excellency Engineer Saad bin Sherida Al-Kaabi, Minister of State for Energy, Managing Director and CEO of Qatar, said that the signing of this agreement strengthens our long-term relationship with Kok Fertilizer Company, one of our valued partners. The partner added: “This agreement is an important step to support the synergy and cooperation between us and to promote growth and shared value for both parties.”

The agreement highlights Qatar Energy’s strategy to build long-term partnerships with leading and reliable companies in the fertilizer industry, and its commitment to supporting the agricultural sector worldwide.
It is worth noting that Kok Industries’ subsidiary Kok Fertilizers Company owns fertilizer plants in North America, Trinidad and Tobago, and Morocco, and distribution facilities in international markets such as the United States, Canada, Mexico, Brazil, and Australia.
It is worth noting that the State of Qatar is the world’s second largest exporter of urea and Qatar Fertilizer Company (QAFCO), a subsidiary of Qatar Energy, is the world’s largest integrated producer of urea and ammonia.
