Qatar Charity, in partnership with the Jordanian Hashemite Charity Organization, has sent food parcels, medicines and medical aid to the Gaza Strip through its office in Jordan, and it is expected that tens of thousands of people will benefit from this humanitarian assistance.
His Excellency Sheikh Saud bin Nasser bin Jassim Al Thani, Ambassador of the State of Qatar to Jordan, accompanied by Mr. Saleh Al Marri, Director General of Qatar Charity’s office in Jordan, attended the launch of Qatar Charity’s campaign dedicated to sending food packages to the Gaza Strip in partnership with the Hashemite Charity Organization of Jordan, which lasted four days.
Qatar’s assistance to the people of the Gaza Strip through Qatar Charity includes a total of 10,000 food parcels, which are expected to benefit approximately 50,000 beneficiaries. These food parcels are enough to meet the basic food supply of a family for one month.
During the launch of the event, His Excellency Sheikh Saud bin Nasser bin Jassim Al Thani stressed the importance of providing assistance to our Palestinian brothers in the Gaza Strip, noting that this is a humanitarian obligation that we always fulfill through long-term coordination with our brothers and noted the importance of Qatar Airways’ efforts in Jordan, which aim to serve the common interests between Qatar and Jordan and enhance security and stability there.
In this regard, Mr. Saleh Al-Marri, General Director of the Qatar Charity Office in Jordan, participated in a convoy of medicines and medical supplies delivered by Qatar Charity to the Gaza Strip in cooperation with the Jordanian Hashemite Charity Organization, which provided assistance to the Gaza Strip, including 15 tons of medicines, supplies and medical consumables.
The head of the Qatar Charity Office in Jordan said that after the three-truck medical relief convoy is put into use, it will continue to provide assistance to poor families and sponsored orphans in Jordan, and expressed sincere gratitude to the Qatar Charity Office in Jordan and the charitable donors in Qatar.
It is worth noting that Qatar Charity has been providing assistance to the Gaza Strip since October last year, with 1,000 tons of aid delivered through 95 aircraft via the Qatar Air Bridge. The emergency relief project also includes the provision of other assistance, including more than 640,000 hot meals and 840 tons of food, as well as 150 tons (tents, shelter items and clothing).
