Qasim University advances in Times International Rankings

Qassim University has achieved advanced positions in the Times International University Classification by Subject 2024, with eight academic disciplines, three of which entered the classification for the first time, and ranked among the best 601 universities in the world, continuing the university’s development efforts in all academic programs. It appeared in eight of the 11 fields of the Times Classification by Subject, and these disciplines jumped to advanced rankings: Engineering from 601 to 251 in the world, Computer Science from 601 to 301. Rankings rose from 601 to 601 in the world, Medicine and Health from 601 to 401, Life Sciences from 601 to 501 in the world, and Pure Basic Sciences from 801 to 601 in the world. It achieved 251 points, second locally, 501 points in Social Sciences, and 501 points in Business and Economics.

The Times’ assessment of the international university classification is based on five main criteria, starting with the educational environment standard, by evaluating the overall education of the university, especially the reality of academic majors, using multiple sub-indicators such as academic reputation, faculty ratio, graduate and undergraduate ratio, and institutional income.

Secondly, the classification is also based on the criteria of the university’s research environment, measured by indicators such as the amount of research, research reputation and income generated by the research process; thirdly, the criteria for measuring the quality of scientific research and its indicators, including citation rates and the strength and characteristics of the university’s research results or majors; fourthly, the criteria for the university’s international vision and its indicators: international research and the number of international students and teachers in the same major. It is noteworthy that Qasim University has achieved a number of results in various international rankings, including 400th place in the Times International University Rankings and 801st place in the international rankings, continuing to rank among the top 1900 international universities.
