Officials are also being asked to share details with the public on how to avoid heat, limit outdoor activities, stay properly hydrated and how to respond to emergencies.
It added, “Water dispensers, adequate clean water and air conditioning should be functional in all health facilities and medicines should be available 24/7 in all health facilities.”
Health officials also asked people to reduce outdoor activities, take protective measures when going out in the sun, and avoid doing strenuous work in direct sunlight.
Warning the public, Irfan Ali Katia, director of the Punjab Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA), said citizens were being informed about the dangers of the heat wave through the internet and social media.
Sharing this information, he said: “Do not go out unless necessary. Please wear light-colored cotton clothes.”
