This Puerto Rican artist, Jose “Don” Martinezreceived a prestigious award on Thursday Royal Academy of Arts, LondonEngland.
Martinez, who just graduated with a master’s degree, is burdened withValerie Beston Artist Trust Award” Class of 2024, also the title of a “Top 10” selection listThe most promising artist in painting”.
The exhibition features work by graduates from a range of disciplines including print, photography, ceramics, glass, contemporary art practice, contemporary art curating, jewellery and metal, writing, sculpture and painting.
Well-known gallery owner and cultural manager, Walter Oterocongratulates Martínez for “continuing on the path of success for the pride of all Puerto Ricans” and reports that among the recent plans of the painter artist three personal exhibitions in Europe stand out: two in London and one in Spain.
“The Paintings Department has the largest number of visitors and is the busiest area of the entire exhibition.. Likewise, it is the most demanding, with the most impressive and promising artists showcasing a wide variety of styles, from total abstraction to highly realistic figurative paintings,” Otero stressed.
The Royal College of Art has been ranked the world’s number one university for art and design for the tenth consecutive year, according to the 2024 QS World University Rankings by Subject. The university has an impressive roster of highly competitive alumni, including Henry Moore, Barbara Hepworth, David Hockney, Bridget Riley, Chris Ofili and Tracey Emin.
