Libreville, Wednesday, July 3, 2024 (Infos Gabon) – The agreed public debt repayments (managed by the General Directorate of Debt) amount to 857.2 billion CFA francs, including 616.87 billion CFA francs in interest.
According to the Ministry of Economy, which published these figures, they are in line with the debt strategy developed by the President of the Republic, Brice Clotaire Origi Nguema, and approved by Parliament during the vote on the Finance Code between September 1, 2023 and May 31, 2024.
The document reports that withdrawals (loan payments) in the same period amounted to 453.92 billion CFA francs. As a result, the net state debt reduction from September 1, 2023 to May 31, 2024 is 162.95 billion CFA francs.
As of May 31, 2024, the state agreed that the outstanding public debt was 6,988.87 billion CFA francs.
