Proposed eradication agency, MUI: Gambling more dangerous than drugs: National Okezone

Jakarta – Aminuddin Yakub, a fatwa member of the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI), said the impact of online gambling is actually more dangerous than drugs.

Then he said that drugs only lead to illness and suffering. At the same time, online gambling is not only the perpetrator, but also has an impact on children, wives and families.

“If it is drugs, only the perpetrator will experience illness and pain, but if it is online gambling, not only the perpetrator, but also the children and wife of the perpetrator’s family will become victims of gambling,” Aminuddin was quoted in his Instagram account @ mui Pusat, Thursday (April 7, 2024).

Therefore, MUI also proposed that the problem of online gambling should not be solved only temporarily by setting up a task force. There are also online gambling eradication agencies such as BNN.

“In fact, the Indonesian Ulema Council proposed that an agency to eradicate gambling should be established. There needs to be an agency to eradicate gambling like BNN. Why is this so, because gambling has more dangerous effects than drugs,” he said.

“Online gambling is digital in nature and there is an IT war and a cyber war going on right now, so this problem is here to stay,” he continued.
