The Law and Development Party (PRO) has expressed regret over the alleged attack on critic Robert Vishnudath.
“Vishnudat is known for his criticism of political policies and he has made his political ambitions known, which is strongly welcomed by our party,” said PRO deputy chairperson Joan Nibte.
“We deeply regret this cowardly act and hope that a thorough investigation can be carried out as soon as possible to identify those responsible and hold them accountable.
The Law and Development Party called on the authorities to urgently clarify the incident and ensure the safety of all citizens.
We wish Mr. Vishnuda strength in these difficult times. His determination and courage in pursuing his political ambitions are admirable.
We remain vigilant and resolute in the struggle for justice and development and support all those working towards a fairer and more transparent Suriname,” said Nibbut.
