A prison soldier was killed by unidentified armed criminals while cultivating his farm in Bor town, Jonglei State on Saturday, according to police sources.
Jonglei State Police Commissioner Major General Elia Costa told Radio Tamazuj that Dot Diing Agot was attacked and killed by suspected armed criminals associated with the Greater Pibor Administrative Area (GPAA) while heading to his farm in Pabiyar-Yokyo, on the outskirts of Bor city.
“A prison soldier went to the farm but did not return home that night, prompting concerned locals to search for him the next day,” Costa explained. “Unfortunately, they found his body with gunshot wounds, indicating that he died at the violent hands of his attackers.”
General Costa said joint security forces have been deployed to patrol areas around the town of Bor.
