Mexico City (apro) – Mexican judoka Prisca Guadalupe Awiti Alcaraz made history by winning Mexico’s first Olympic medal after competing in the 2024 Paris Olympics.
At around 7:20 pm, Prisca Awiti arrived at the Mexico City International Airport (AICM) from Paris, France. Her family, as well as numerous fans and media gathered at Terminal 2 to welcome the athlete.
Some of his mother’s family, colleagues, judoka Vanessa Zambotti, and even people passing by came to the door of Room P to welcome him. The scene was filled with shouts, slogans, and cheers.
Although Prisca quickly left the place under the guard of the judo team personnel, the commotion prevented her from even getting close to greet her family. Last Tuesday, July 30, Prisca reached the podium of the 2024 Paris Olympics after winning the silver medal.
