Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) has appointed former England batsman Ian Bell as the national team’s ‘batsing coach’ for the current tour.
Bell, who has scored 7,727 runs in 118 Test matches and hit an impressive 22 centuries, will serve as a substitute from August 16 until the end of the three-Test series.
He will start working with the team from August 16 till the end of the three-Test series, SLC said in a statement.
SLC CEO Ashley De Silva stressed that Bell’s experience and knowledge of the local conditions in the UK will be invaluable in helping the Sri Lankan players on this important tour.
