Mexico, DF (apro). – The alliance formed by the Institutional Revolutionary Party (PRI) and the Green Ecologists Party (PVEM) nominated Mariana Moguer, daughter of Rosario Robles, former head of the Federal District government, as a candidate for local representation in the country’s capital. This Wednesday, the two parties published the list of candidates for the Legislative Assembly of the Federal District, with Robles’ daughter, former national president of the Democratic Revolutionary Party, as the candidate for the local 9th district, corresponding to the Miguel Hidalgo delegation. “Mariana Moguer has been registered as a joint candidate of the two parties for the local 9th district; this is a proposal made by the Green Party and supported by the PRI,” said a PVEM source. The Miguel Hidalgo delegation is one of three delegations led by the National Action Party in the Federal District; it includes several high-value communities, including the unique communities of Polanco and Lomas de Chapultepec. However, the 9th district is currently represented by Víctor Hugo Romo, a member of the PRD. The Compromiso por México coalition also has other former PRD militants registered as local candidates and heads of delegations, such as Álvaro Obregón, Cuajimalpa and Leticia Robles, Adrián Rubalcaba and Emilio Serrano in Ixtacalco. Rosario Robles was expelled from the Democratic Party in 2004 following a scandal involving his relationship with Argentine businessman Carlos Ahumada, author of the video scandal, and a huge debt to the party at the end of his term.
