Tunisians will elect the President of the Republic on Sunday, October 6, 2024 (4th, 5th and 6th for residents abroad). The elections will be marked by the candidacy of President Kais Saied, who has held the post since 2019, and numerous other candidates. The list will be finalized on September 3, 2024, after reviewing the documents and exhausting all appeals.
The process kicked off with the publication of Decree No. 2024-403 on July 2, 2024, calling on voters to participate in the 2024 presidential elections.
The Independent High Electoral Authority (Isie) was therefore able to draw up a detailed timetable for this vote and set different dates. The electoral period begins on July 14 and lasts until the final results are announced. The deadline for submitting applications is July 29 and will last until Tuesday, August 6, 2024.
