Santiago. — President Luis Abinader called this Saturday on young Dominicans not to limit their aspirations, whatever field they want to develop, assuring that by doing so they will receive the maximum assistance from the Government.
“I have always said that Dominican youth should have no limits on their aspirations and Mariledi is an example of that and I repeat this not only in the field of sports,” the president said.
The President said Dominican athlete Marie-Leddy Paulino is a source of national pride because not only did she win the gold medal at the 2024 Paris Olympics and be crowned the new 400m queen, but also because she broke the Olympic record with 48.17 seconds.
He said Marileidy is not only a source of national pride but also a model for Dominican youth to emulate, adding that he has been watching the competition with confidence because Dominican athletes are sure they will be the winners and that he hopes to be crowned the champion soon.
He believes that the Dominican people must applaud this great feat, adding that he has received calls from presidents of other countries congratulating him on his great work.
President Abinader expressed his views in an interview with the media at the end of the inauguration ceremony of the renovated Santiago Institute of Fine Arts.
